Department of Cultivation Science 


Department of Cultivation Science was established in 1956. Since its foundation, Department has been entered and separated several times with other departments in Faculty of Agronomy. From 1977 to 2008, Department of Cultivation Science was belonged to Faculty of Land Management. Since June 2008, the Cultivation Science group has been separated from the Department of Irrigation - Cultivation to establish Department of Cultivation Science belonged to the Faculty of Agronomy.

Since its establishment and development, generations of staffs have contributed a great effort in promoting science - technology and training the human resources for Vietnamese agriculture.

Former staffs of department have been involved in State management and scientific researches with the following positions: Deputy Prime Minister, Head of Hanoi University of Agriculture, Union president, Secretary of Youth Union, Chief of Staff, Head of Administration, Head of the Organization Staff, Head of Science, Head of Student Affairs, Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Director of the Center for Agricultural Technology Transfer and Experimenting.

Orientable research

-          Studying and producing liquid organic fertilizer

-          Studying on the automatic organic waste treatment technology

-          Studying on the solutions of the change from conventional to organic cultivation system

-          Studying on the organic fertilizer application for crop system

-          Studying on integrated weed management in crop

-          Studying on methods of cultivation of Quinoa and Salicornia in Northern Vietnam

-          Developing special pomelo areas grown organic farming combined garden tourism

-          Developing the model of rice - Tylorrhynchus heterocheatus combined ecological tourism on brackish areas

Research on crops: rice, maize, quinoa, vegetable (cabbage, tomato, cucumber,..), citrus 

Publications: the number of publications in scientific journals, and workshop proceedings in-country and abroad are estimated from 5 to 7 ones every year

Projects: in the period from 2011 to 2018, there has been 01 state project, 02 ministry projects, 10 province projects, 05 vnua projects and  01 nursery technology project.
