According to the ranking results for 2020 published on December the 15th by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP), Vietnam has a total of 15 universities in the ranking table (an increase of 4 universities as compared to the 2019 URAP).

 
 

In the 2020 URAP word ranking, there were 3000 universities and world universities ranked, increased by 500 as compared to the 2019 URAP.

The list of 12 Vietnamese universities in the 2020 URAP rankings:


 

In the URAP world rankings in 2020, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) remains its first place in Vietnam (as in 2019) and is ranked at 639th in the world. Duy Tan University improves its ranking to the 2nd place, and Vietnam National University, Hanoi is ranked 3rd in Vietnam.

However, Ton Duc Thang University and Duy Tan University are the two representatives of Vietnam in the top 1000.

Some universities in Vietnam such as Vietnam National University - Hanoi, Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi Medical University, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology are seen in the top 1000 to 2000.

In the top 2000 to 3000, there are Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Hue University, Can Tho University, Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Hanoi University of Education, and University of Mining and Geology.

URAP uses data about all universities listed by the Web of Science to make rankings. The criteria of quantity, quality of scientific publications, citation index, and scientific impacts, etc. account for the largest weight in the assessment process.

This ranking system uses neither data provided by universities nor the results of experts’ voting. These things make the ranking results become absolutely objective.
