ENTOMOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Introduction
The department of Entomology has established in 1977 on the separation from the Department of Plant Protection. Currently, the department has nine staffs, including four Associate Professors - PhDs, two PhDs, two Masters and one technician. The teaching staffs are well-trained in developed countries for science and technology including the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Russia, Australia, Japan, and China. The department principal duty is providing professional training for engineers, masters and doctoral students in the fields of plant protection, crop science, and biotechnology. The Department of Entomology is the Vietnamese leading organization for training, scientific research and technology transfer purposes in the field of plant protection.
Our People
Research Areas
The Department's research focuses on five major research themes including (i) Taxonomy of Agricultural insect & mite pests (ii) Study on integrated pest management of crop and stored product; (iii) Studies on mass rearing natural enemies of agricultural pest; (iv) Studies on chemical resistance of agricultural pest; and (v) Study on honey bees: artificial insemination, selection and breeding of bees.
