Department of Plant Physiology was established in 1956 and named Department of Physiology-Biochemistry. In 1991, the team of Biochemistry was separated and formed to the Department of Biochemistry - Preservation - Processing (the predecessor of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology). In 2003, the team of Tissue Culture was also separated from the Department of Plant Physiology and merged with some other departments to form the Department of Biotechnology and Experimental Methods (the predecessor of the Faculty of Biotechnology).
Department of Plant Physiology is responsible for teaching, researching and guiding students and graduate students in the field of Plant Physiology and the Applying.
